Most libraries are happy to buy books that you request. In fact, they have to report to the council the usage statistics. Purchase requests help provide evidence to local councils that people value their local libraries, and therefore, this helps protect library budgets from being cut!

The most difficult part can be finding the right email address to send your request to.

A general tempalate for requesting books is very basic:


Dear Library team
I would like to request purchase of the following books. My library ID is [YOUR_LIBRARY_ID].

Book 1: Ten Myths About Israel by Ilan Pappe.  Author, Year Published, Publisher, ISBN (if you can find it), format (physical book/ebook/audiobook)
Book 2: Title, Author, Year Published, Publisher, ISBN (if you can find it), format (physical book/ebook/audiobook)
Book 3: Title, Author, Year Published, Publisher, ISBN (if you can find it), format (physical book/ebook/audiobook)
